Meat E-Commerce Marketing for Ranchers and Processors

Meat e-commerce for ranchers and processors

Sell beef online the way beef actually sells.

By the share, by the pound, by the box. Agriculture Marketing Agency brings the buyers to your store and closes the sale, whether you sell on Shopify, From the Farm, GrazeCart or anything else. We work every day alongside the ranchers and processors who sell beef direct.

We know the business

We work every day alongside the ranchers and processors who raise, cut and sell the beef, from processor slots to the pickup lot.

We test it first

Every tactic on this page was run on a real ranch store, with the numbers published, before we offer it to yours.

We publish the numbers

Including what did not work. Ask anyone else for theirs.

Why meat breaks normal e-commerce

A steak is not a T-shirt. Most agencies build your store like it is.

Generic stores assume fixed prices, unlimited stock and ship-anytime products. Beef has none of those. These are the eight places ranch stores lose the sale, and what we set up so yours does not.

01

Share deposits and balance due

The buyer reserves a quarter, half or whole today and pays the rest at hanging weight weeks later. We set up the deposit, the balance invoice and the reminder emails in between.

02

Hanging vs. packaged weight

The number one reason first-time share buyers stall. We write the pricing page that shows live weight, hanging weight and take-home pounds in plain English, before they ask.

03

Variable-weight cuts

No two ribeyes weigh the same. Price per pound, charge the actual weight, and keep the checkout from scaring anyone off.

04

Processing slots and cut-offs

You can only sell the animals you have booked. We tie offers and ads to your processor calendar so you sell out slots, not oversell them.

05

Cut sheets buyers can finish

A cut sheet is a quiz most customers fail. We turn it into guided choices with a sensible default, so orders reach the processor complete.

06

Freezer-space math

“Will a half fit in my freezer?” kills more share sales than price does. We answer it on the product page, with bundles for buyers who are not ready for a half.

07

Pickup, local delivery, cold-chain shipping

Zones, pickup days, order minimums and frozen shipping costs, set so every order you take is an order you make money on.

08

Inspection and labeling rules

Custom-exempt and USDA-inspected beef cannot be sold the same way. We build the offer around what your processing lets you legally sell online.

Works on the store you already have

We market the store you have. We do not make you move.

Most ranches already sell somewhere: Shopify, a farm platform, a Square page, a form and a spreadsheet. The store is rarely the problem. The problem is that the right buyers never find it, or find it and cannot tell what they are getting. We fix that on the platform you are on, and we only suggest a move when the numbers say it would pay.

What we do

The marketing side

  • Offer and pricing pages that answer weight, price and pickup
  • Buyer-intent search and a page for every town you serve
  • Google product listings for shares and boxes
  • Email that sells the next animal
  • Ads for warm buyers first
  • A monthly revenue report

Want the store, CRM, email and automations run for you too? See the managed tech stack.

Where we do it

Any store that can take a deposit

  • Shopify, where the Diamond R program runs
  • Farm platforms such as From the Farm, GrazeCart, Local Line and Barn2Door
  • Square and WooCommerce stores

Choosing or switching? Our platform comparison lays out the fees and where each one fits.

Case study

The ranch whose recipes were winning and whose beef pages were losing.

Diamond R Cattle is a fourth-generation Black Angus ranch in Independence, Kansas, selling shares, boxes and cuts direct. Thousands of people a month found their hamburger-doneness post. Almost none of them bought beef.

“Back in May, I was concerned about what we were going to do with the cattle we had in the feed yard.”Marty Reichenberger, owner, Diamond R Cattle

What we did

  • Classified every incoming search by buyer intent.
  • Routed each recipe to the cuts it uses.
  • Built six city and state landing pages.
  • Rewrote product titles to say what the customer gets.
  • Launched the email program.
  • Rebuilt ads around people who already knew the ranch.

What did not work, stated plainly

Our first Facebook campaign set drove 4,695 visits and zero attributed purchases. We killed it and rebuilt the ads for warm audiences. You will get the same honesty about your account.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Do I have to switch platforms?

No. We work with the store you have. Diamond R sells on Shopify and stayed there. If a platform change would help, we say so with the numbers, and the choice is yours.

Is my ranch big enough to work with you?

We work best with brands that have inventory to sell and can handle around $60,000 a year in sales to start. If you are not there yet, book the free call anyway: we will tell you plainly what to fix first and what you can do yourself.

I sell custom-exempt. Can I sell online?

Yes, as shares. The buyer owns the animal, or a share of it, before harvest, and a custom-exempt processor cuts it for them. Packaged cuts sold to the public need USDA or state inspection. We build the offer around what your processing allows.

Do I need to ship nationwide?

No. Most of the beef sold direct is picked up or delivered locally, and that is usually the more profitable order. Shipping boxes is an add-on when the local market is working.

Do you guarantee sales?

No. Nobody honest does. We publish what happened for a real client, including the campaign that failed, and we report your numbers against your own baseline every month.

Will I know the full cost before I sign?

Yes. After the audit call you get a written scope, price, responsibilities and terms. Nothing starts until you have read it.
